The growing popularity of talking up MBA programs has skyrocketed in the
past few years. However, increasingly there has always been a segment that
hasn’t been able to chase this dream since they don’t have the time to enroll
themselves in a full time program. Increasingly several top universities and
institutes not just across the country but all over the world are offering part time MBA courses.
If you have been thinking whether or not a part time MBA would look good
on resume, the simple answer to this is, yes it sure will! This is largely
because recruiters are on the lookout for quality managers who can prove their
worth, unlike before when they would have rejected your application just
because a B-School degree was missing. Taking this aspect into consideration, it
would be an apt choice to go in for the part time course in case you can’t
enroll for a full time course.
Another preconceived notion that several people have is that a part time
course isn’t half as good as a full time course. This myth has arisen from the
fact that there are several correspondence courses that are on offer, which have
an outdated syllabus. Due to this several employers were vary of hiring people
who had anything other than a full time MBA course. However, this trend has
changed as part time courses are on par with full time courses in terms of
quality as well as the syllabus.
This means by taking up a part time course you would be in line to
receive better pay, it would be more likely that you’d receive a promotion and
more importantly you could become the boss. Acquiring this degree would give
you leverage in the job market as well, meaning you would be in a position to
make demands. So are you still having second thoughts about taking on a part time MBA?
